Your first (and very important!) step is to log in to  and establish your ¹ú²úÂ×Àí student account. FlashLine is a virtual hub of information that you will use throughout your time as a ¹ú²úÂ×Àí student.

Get Started

1. To log in for the first time, go to .
2. Enter your ¹ú²úÂ×Àí email address (ex. "janedoe@kent.edu"). This can be found in the "Your FlashLine Credentials" email you received after you were admitted.
3. To create your temporary password, enter the following information in the drop down boxes:
   1. The month you were born.
   2. The year you were born.
   3. The last five digits of your ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Identification Number. This can be found in your admission letter.
4. Once you have successfully logged in with this temporary password, you will be prompted to select a new password. You will also be asked to provide an alternate email address and answer challenge questions that you can use to reset your password in case it is forgotten.
5. After you establish your account, please save your FlashLine credentials somewhere safe.

Establishing your account in FlashLine allows you to access important financial aid information, the housing application and commuter exemption form, and much more.

The 2025-26  opened in December 2024. The FAFSA is one of the most important applications of your college career. Any student, regardless of income, who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs should apply. This eligibility includes grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.

Tuscarawas Campus Scholarships are awarded to new students based on both academic merit and financial need. New students should be admitted by February 1 for full scholarship consideration. Applicants who are admitted after February 1 will be considered for remaining awards on a rolling basis.

For external scholarships, we recommend looking locally and applying in the Winter/Spring prior to your admission year.  ScholarshipUniverse is a search portal that will help you find and apply to external scholarships.

Please refer to your acceptance packet and/or application portal to see if you need to take any assessments. To accurately place you in appropriate college courses, your advisor will use your high school GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and/or placement test score. All placement testing must be completed prior to scheduling classes.

• ALEKS Math may be completed from home or anywhere you have Internet access through FlashLine. Once logged in, click on Student in the left column, then look under Resources and click Placement Assessments.

New first-year students must attend a KSU Advising & Registration session, during which you’ll become oriented to the campus, learn more about financial aid, review your placement test results and schedule your first-semester classes. All placement testing must be completed prior to attending.  

You will receive an invitation to register for KSU Advising & Registration at the email address you provided on your application for admission.

New Student Orientation is held each August to welcome new students and their families to our campus. The day includes fun and informative sessions for students and parents and ends with games and lunch!  An abbreviated New Student Orientation is held in January for students starting in the Spring semester.

Log in to FlashLine and click the mail icon on the top right to access your email. You will receive important messages to your ¹ú²úÂ×Àí email address. Check your ¹ú²úÂ×Àí email every day to make sure you don’t miss information about advising, registration, and financial aid.

You will be notified when you can view and accept decline or reduce your financial aid awards (including federal aid, state aid and university scholarships) in .

• First-time federal loan borrowers: Sign the and complete . You must complete these to receive federal aid. During entrance counseling, you'll learn about direct loans, budgeting, repayment options and your rights as a borrower. In order to use your federal student aid for non-institutional charges, complete your Title IV authorization.
• Returning federal loan borrowers: Monitor federal loan borrowing, view loan history and find servicer information on . Report outside scholarships, awards and other tuition assistance you are bringing to ¹ú²úÂ×Àí on the Offer tab of your Financial Aid Dashboard in .

Ask your school counselor to send your final high school transcript with your graduation date—this is required to start classes at ¹ú²úÂ×Àí. To earn credit for college courses or Advanced Placement (AP)/International Baccalaureate (IB) exams, send your final transcripts or test scores.

You are now a confirmed ¹ú²úÂ×Àí student. Congratulations!

There are a few more things you may need to do before the semester starts:

• Register for Selective Service. If you are an Ohio resident male over the age of 18, register for selective service.
• Review tuition payment options on the Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center website.
• Request your chosen name. We recognize that some students use a name other than their legal name to identify themselves. We recommend you do this before arriving on campus. You can do this by logging in to  and following the steps below:
  • Select "Student" in the left-hand column.
  • Under "Student," select "Resources."
  • Under "Resources," select "Requests and Authorizations."
  • The webpage will be displayed; select "Chosen Name Request."
